Immigration - A Question of Humanity
Don Luca Favarin, Percorso Vita Onlus, Italy

In Italian with consecutive interpreting

Don Luca Favarin, a catholic priest, originally a prison chaplain in Padua, dealing with Mafia convicts, serial killers and satanists, travelled extensively throughout Africa as volunteer. He then came back home to involve himself with the immigration issue and is now running 9 shelters, 9 for men and 1 for women in Padua and the surrounding region. For the last 10 years he has also been dealing with female victims of sexual trafficking. A vocal critic of xenophobia and racism, he has now become a nationally recognized advocate of a both human and operative approach to the ongoing flow of refugees in Italy, and has been host of several talk-shows. Recently, CNN dedicated to him a full reportage.
